Disappearing Butterfly

Where do butterflies go?

At night or during bad weather, butterflies will usually hang from the undersides of leaves, or crawl into crevices between rocks or other objects, and sleep.

Though some think he’s odd, Mr. Shane is convinced that butterflies have the ability to turn invisible. He has spent many-a-hour chasing them in a field and is confident they can ‘disappear’ as you are looking (chasing) them. He thinks it is an evolutionary survival tactic. They cannot stay invisible for long, but long enough to prevent a predator (with a butterfly net) from catching them. His explanation for the whole sce·nar·i·o is simple. We don’t know it to be true, because no one else has been willing to accept it is true.
